WFB Club Comp

Club Warhammer Tournament

The club is organising a Warhammer tournament to be played over a number of weeks starting in May. Full rules can be found on the club noticeboard, but in brief they are as follows:

1: Each entrant will make a copy of a 1500pt army list, to be kept at the club.

2: Any magic users, magic items or abilities will remain the same, so if a magic user is level 2 law of Necromancy, with a Talisman of Protection, this is what he shall remain in all games. However the actual spells lists will be diced for at the start of each game.

3: Victory points will be worked out according to the rullbook (page 102/103), with competition points awarded as follows.

  • Massacre: Winner 5pts, Loser 0pts
  • Solid Victory: Winner 4pt, Loser 0pts
  • Marginal Victory: Winner 2pts, Loser 1pt
  • Draw: Both players score 1pt

[I'm assuming actual victory points scored will be recorded too and used as a tie-breaker should one be required]

4: All games to finish by 10:30 on Mondays or until 6 turns have been played.

5: The tournament will run until all players have played one battle against all participants.

6: Battleground to be fought on is a 6ft x 4ft table. One of the players to randomly determine the battlefield from the 6 maps posted on the club noticeboard. Both players deploy up to 12″ on from a long table edge. Highest dice score sets up first unit on table side of their choice, the alternate the deployment of units. Players then dice for the first turn.

And that’s it, fairly simple. I understand there’s a prize for 1st place and 8 people have signed up so far.

Entry is still open . . .

Deadline for army list is Monday June 4th (now Sept 3rd).

Most lists are now in. Dave has asked me to go through them and check them for legality etc. I’ll be plodding through them slowly, but if anybody wants to schedule a game then they can always ask me to bump their army check up the list.

Final deadline for all army lists is now 03/09/07. If it’s not in by that date then neither are you.

Update [12/10/07]. More results in. The actual VP score in the game where Terry beat Robert is unconfirmed. I believe it was Terry +1900 to Robert’s +250, but need to confirm it.

Update [16/10/07]. Three more games played and Steve Wilson’s Dwarves have now kicked off their campaign with a solid victory over Terry’s Empire. The score from Terry’s previous game has now been confirmed.

Update [23/10/07]. Only one tournament game last night, with two others falling foul to the flu bug and the traffic.

Update [06/11/07]. Four more games recorded and Stephen reclaims his lead. Robert’s High Elves have now finished their campaign, just in time for their new army book :-)

Update [19/11/07]. Two more games in the bag. That leaves only eight to go.

Update [26/11/07]. Two more games played, leaving only six more to play. John has now completed his eight game campaign and stands in third place. Derek, Steve and Terry can all catch him though.

Update [11/12/07]. Three more games played, two this week and one last. Only three more to go now.

Update [18/12/07]. One more game in the record books. Only two more to go now.

Update [19/02/08]. The final two games have been played now and the tournament is over. See below for the final positions.

Player VP For VP Against VP Diff Games Played Points
Mark 11158 1293 +9865 8 31

Complete list of results (please let me know if any of them are incorrect). 1/2 VP have been rounded down. Games are scored on the 1500-1999pt column, so +225 is a Marginal Victory, +450 is a Solid Victory and +900 is required for a Massacre.
